No More Politcal Ads!!!!!

~ The day after Election Day and here in Maine, 2 of the 3 major races have been decided. Hannah Pingree will move to the Blaine House in January, keeping with the new tradition of wemen governors for the Pine Tree State. And in a move that shocked some and dleighted me, Troy Jackson defeated the ever-entrenched Susan Collins for her seat in the US Senate. The CD2 race for the US House of Representatives is still too close to call as of this morning, with Matt Dunlap currently holding a slim margin over former governor Paul LePage. I hope that margin holds as I'd hate to see what hell LePage would unleash on us all. ~ Nationally, it really was a blue tsunami - all across the country people finally stood up and said "Nope" so the Senate and House are both firmly back in Demoratic hands come January. We just need to get through the next couple of months without any tomfoolery by the GOP and Trump. ~ Working the polls yesterday was interesting. I was on one of the ballot tabulating machines the entire time. More interaction with people, most of it pleasant. Only one older woman commented in a way that told me how she voted (red). I saw several people I haven't seen in a while but the pace of the job didn't allow much time for visiting. Dana Wands from UMA (she was a student worker and now has a permanent job there), Ruby Marden who drove up from Lewiston to vote then got in her car and drove back to go to classes at Bates. Bren and Garrett, and more that I can't remember now. I was freezing cold at first then warm and somehow managed to pick up some but that made my nose run all day. I came hoe and took a nap, made dinner and went to bed early, just not feeeling great. Better this morning but think I'll skip Tai Chi to be on the safe side. I do need to run to Hannaford for a few things before the big shop tomorrow.
